Skype

Talked to my sister via Skype. She and hubby go to FL for three months in winter and Skype is a great way to keep in touch in person. They talked about the market being so low in Ft Myers. It would be a great time to buy if someone was looking for a winter place. It gets too hot in the summer. Of course I can't imagine what the insurance would set you back.

Sedona has been delivered to Theda. Most of southern Tennessee got quite a bit of snow but it didn't affect the roads heading west. Now I will miss Sedona because I love it when I come home and she is so happy to see me. This is best for right now. She loves being down at the park so I know she is in a happy place. She will still be happy to see me when she returns home.

I'll post the MLS number when I get it and you can see my Town Home on the web. Heck, maybe some of my readers will want to buy. LOL I am so ready and am feeling so liberated with all the work that I and friends have done. I will be ready to live my dream when it happens.

Watching the Lady Vols hopefully beat Vanderbilt. One can hope.

1,000 games, Roy comes back and Steeler win

For those of you who don't follow basketball, much less women's basketball, you may want to skip this post. The Lady Vols coach, Pat Summitt, is going for game 1000 tonight against Oklahoma City. It will be a tough game with the way our girls are playing, if we don't pull it out tonight, there is always the next game. I have all Pat's books, autographed and I have a great collection of cars depecting the National and SEC Championships. She is a great coach and has molded a lot of good leaders from her teams. I salute her!

That begs the question, what on earth am I going to do with those hard back books and the collection of 9 cars when I hit the road full time? hummmm

Next, Roy, my nephew, is coming back to Nashville. CSX was finished with him at KY so he will come back here next week to work in the Nashville yard. I have made his swear he has to keep his room & bathroom picked up because the town home will be shown by real estate agents. He swears, no problem. We will see! I am actually glad he is coming back, I've missed him and I know Sedona has missed him. She will be excited too.

That super bowl last night was a great game. Good thing because the commercials were a bomb. I was actually for the Cardinals but the Steelers play the Titans so that will be good when they come to town. It will make the ticket prices go up. When I was a PSL owner of two seats at the Titans, the Steeler's game is where I would make my money to pay for all season games. I always enjoyed them coming to town. Later after I sold my PSL's the Colts were hot, hot, hot. Gee, think how much I could have made w/those tickets. LOl Now I can watch the games on my big screen and have all the potty breaks and cheaper beer than going to the game. Don't have to burn up in the August/Sept games and freeze in the Dec games. Ahhhh, life is good.

Veteran's Day

Today was Veteran's Day and there was a big parade downtown Nashville. It rained a little but the hardest rain held off until after the parade. Did I go? No, it was a state holiday and I went to learn how to winterize Somewhere.

I took her to Clarksville RV Supercenter and Jim walked me through step by step how to do it. I had watched my walk through DVD I took while taking possession of Somewhere last December but I learn best by doing. Now I can do it w/out stressing whether I got it right.

Gas was $1.99 today. Nice change from a few months ago.

I have made after Christmas plans. Jonathan, Taylor and I will be going to Stone Mountain GA for their Christmas event. We are looking forward to it. We will be staying in Somewhere in Etowah at Deborah's and then will go on down to Atlanta the day after Christmas. I can't wait. It will be fun. I won't be staying for the Snow Mountain but Jonathan and Taylor will stay. It's a big slide down the mountain on inner tubes on top of snow. I'm sure it's man made snow. I hope it's man made snow. LOL

I have a couple of new travelling companions that I want you to meet.
This is Buffett. I suppose he will jump in my suitcase to go on my cruise. He wants to be like the Travelocity Gnome. As long as he is good and doesn't make a mess, he can go anywhere with me. I know, I must be a lonely "old woman" to be taking TY beanies with me on trips. You just never know where he will show up. You can tell he is already checking things out on the computer to see where we will go next.

This is my yet to be named Pink Flamingo. She won't be going on as many trips, just the ones in Somewhere. She will be the RV Women's mascot when we have our get togethers. She will get to come out and play whenever she wants. Let me know what you think she needs to be named. I've been thinking of Carib for the Caribbean but I don't think she likes that so I'll keep trying and I'll let you know. I'm sure you will be waiting with bated breath.

How did I come up with these new companions? Remember I told you Cindy had a yard sale, well at an auction she went to she purchased about 200 + beanie babies and had the to sell in her yard sale. These two babies were in there calling my name and Cindy gave them to me. I didn't have to buy them, that's how they jumped on board with me. Buffett has a special riding place already and matches my theme of It's 5 o'clock Somewhere. Not sure about where the flamingo will go. She will find her place. My challenge is to keep Sedona away from them. She thinks they are toys for her, imagine that!

Debbie stopped by today on the way to the DR. She had forgotten that I was home on holiday today. She has an upper respiratory funk going on but boy does she look good. She has lost about 80 + lbs and is looking like a different person. I am so very proud of Debbie. She dropped off some hand me downs from Duchess to Sedona. Sedona wasn't feeling too proud in this UT sweater, since they are doing so badly this year, but then I told her it was really a Lady Vols shirt and she perked up. Can't blame her for that, can you? tee hee Thanks Debbie & Duchess.

Go Titans- 9-0.

Where have I been?

Oh my goodness, it's been a while, hasn't it? I have so much to write about, I have been procrastinating because I made some changes to the decor of Somewhere and wanted to post pictures. But I didn't take my camera with me so I'm gonna tell you about it and then I'll post pictures later. You will love what I have done.

In my kitchen next to the stove the wallpaper border looked like it was discolored. I figured it was because of the heat from the stove. I have been looking for a good looking back splash that was lightweight. I'm sure you know how important weight is to an RV. Anyway, on harriettcarter.com I found some tiles that I loved. They come in stainless, gold or bronze. I chose the stainless. These tiles are 6" and you get 16 in a box. When put together they form a Fleur DE Le's of sorts. They were easy to put up and look so cool. I don't know how they will travel so the test is going to be next weekend when I go to Crossville. The tiles came with 2-sided tabs to put them up with. I think if that doesn't hold up, I'll get some clear silicone and use that.

Last weekend I was able to open all the windows, put the awning out so it could breathe a little bit. It was an absolutely beautiful weekend.

Saturday some of the TN women had a pre-gtg at the IHOP in Rivergate. We met for breakfast and got the plans completed for this weekend. You know, who's going to bring what, etc. Anyway we didn't want to leave because we were having such a good conversation. Alas, we were taking up the waiters prime table so we decided to leave and take our conversation up next weekend. I'm sure we won't run out of things to talk about.

After breakfast, I went to Goodwill. Becky had told me about that the first Saturday of the month is 50% off at Goodwill. I had been thinking I need some new short and Capri's so thought I would go check it out. Couldn't find any of those but I did find some knives and serving spoons to put in Somewhere. I didn't want to buy new ones because when I sell out of my condo, I'll be taking my stainless with me. So I bought six knives, six serving spoons for a whopping $1.42. WooHoo! Now I see what people talk about when they talk shopping in Thrift Stores. I'll definitely do that again.

I have been steadily working on scanning my photos and man is that time consuming. I am almost finished. Jonathan said he would take the photos and keep them. He suggested I make two copies on DVD's or whatever medium I decide to use and let him have one and me take the other. Just in case one gets scratched or damaged in some other way. Makes sense to me, thanks Jonathan. I knew I raised you well. LOL I didn't do them one at a time. The photos that were in books, I just took the page out and scanned the whole thing. Makes it more interesting that way. I had a photo album of New York with everything in it and it scanned very well, as did the San Francisco scrap book. Soap, book matches, menus, plane ticket, tour tickets, you name it, I had saved it all and now it's digital...

Got a new date of Edison this week, it will go-live on October. That is if parallel testing works. We will all keep our fingers crossed. I sure hope it gets delayed until Jan '09, personally. I am so ready to retire. If I had the time, I'd be gone right now and I do mean RIGHT now. I work with such a great group of people, I really want to leave. Read into this post what you may...

Roy came back to visit on Saturday. It was good to see him and get caught up with what's going on with him. He had some school to attend. He also has another class this week and then that's it. I probably won't see him for a while, unless he comes back to work in Nashville.

On the WomensRVforum, one of the posts was about our blogs. Everyone put their address to their blogs and I was reading one of them. OMG, this woman's husband is just a hoot. He is so funny with his posts. Much more interesting than mine, so I guess I'll have to take some pointers from him. His DW said he has a tendency to exaggerate. Well, what the heck, it's his blog, he can take as many liberties as he wants, right?

Charlton Heston died this week. He was such a man. I loved him in his movies and while he was the president of the NRA. When he spoke, people listened. He will be missed.

Lady Vols won the national championship in NCAA women's basketball for the 2nd time in a row this week. They played an awesome last game. Played like the team they should have been all week. I sure hope Candace Parker's shoulder will be okay. I've never had one dislocated but I did tear a rotator cuff and that was miserable for me, I couldn't imagine shooting a basketball. The PAIN...ooh, horrible. There are not enough drugs in this world that would have helped me do what she did. WTG, Lady VOLS, you rock!
