Pot Pie Find

This is certainly blog worthy so go ahead a laugh if you must. I went to the grocery store yesterday and really wanted something quick to fix. My nephew, Roy, had been getting chicken pot pies which I would not eat because they had green peas in them. Yuck!! I would always pick the peas out and that takes way to long.

Well, Marie Callender has chicken pot pies with NO green peas, instead there is one with green beans, one with broccoli and one with nothing green at all in it. I bought five, yes, you read correctly FIVE! I had one last night and it was so good. Crust is just right even when cooked in the microwave. Thank you Marie Callender.

Back in touch

Hello, I'm back on cyberspace. I just haven't been interested in posting to my blog lately. I apologize to my regular readers but I'm sure you understand.

I had gall badder surgery and while recuperating I went down to Theda's and stayed about a week. It was a good place to be but there is no cell service which made my Verizon broadband not operational. I sure didn't like being out of touch. She has dial up at home and it really was slow. Guess that's my first opportunity to use the broadband outside of the Nashville area. Verizon and I have had many conversations. Let's hope it gets better.

I had another open house last weekend and once again, NO LOOKERS. Yep, that's zero. Since the condo has been on the market it has not been shown once. It's hard to not be discouraged and wonder if I am ever going to be able to get the heck out of dodge. I'll keep the faith though.

Roy, my nephew, is gone. He went back to Etowah. Nashville CSX ran out of work over here for him so he went back home to hold several jobs there. I miss him already and so does Sedona. I didn't even get to have his welcome back to Nashville party. Oh well, he will probably be back if work in the yard picks back up.

Thursday night was a great night. I met some fellow RVers for dinner. I had been following Gary and Vicki's adventures as they full time. They are a couple from the Nashville area and I had read about them in an article featuring them in The Tennessean. He posted on his blog, We're Wingin' It, they were coming to Nashville to visit family until their workkamping job in Hariman, TN. I email and we set up a time to have dinner and let them share their knowledge and experiences with me and my other RVing friend, Margie.

It was good to listen and be able to ask questions about full-time rving. It seems they have been full time since 2005 so they have been through several seasons and have learned what works well for them and what doesn't. Vicki is a cooker. She cooks a lot while they are out and it was good to hear that can be done. Of course, it makes a difference when a couple is going out and when a single person will be doing it all. I was so pumped when I left dinner at Longhorns. However, it made me a little sad that I'm gonna have to wait longer to get out on the road. Let's see, I think I need more patience! WHAT!

It was good to have an evening with Gary, Vicki and Margie. RV people are good.

That's a brief update on what has been going on with me for the last couple of weeks. I'll try to do better in my postings.

Salsa Dancing and more

Roy and I decided to go to some free Salsa dancing lessons last night. It was so much fun! Of course, this morning, I could barely get out of bed. Hips are a little sore but I just enjoyed it so much. They are offered in a little bar down the street called Elysian Inn. It is under new management and they are trying to offer different things to get people to come in. This worked out very good because it was from 7-9 which doesn't make for a late work night. We will definitely go again. There were two other Latin dances we learned. The basic steps on all of the dances are not difficult, it's all the turning that adds to the sauciness of it.

Have you seen the Comcast commercials? I LOVE them. They are bright, catchy and very well done. The Arby's non-burger is gross. I really don't like it when the guy picks up the burger and runs it through his hair! Yuck!

Realtors came by the other day for a walk through. There were about twelve of them. Roy sat out and gave me a blow-by-blow on the phone. He counted and timed them. It was funny to hear him do a announcers job on the kind of car they were driving, how many were in each car, how long they stayed, etc. We will see if they have any prospects. No lookers yet.

I'll be out of commission for a few days. Gonna have gall bladder surgery tomorrow but from what I hear, it's no big deal. Won't be dancing next week.

Open House Report

This will be a short post. I'm not in a good mood so I'm here to let you all know that I had my first open house. ZERO people showed up. Yep, ZERO. Not even the nosey neighbors showed up. Of course it was the first beautiful weekend in a long cold winter so guess folks were not interested in going home shopping today.

Good show on HGTV tonight at 7. RV2009, I'll watch that and that will get me in a better mood.

Somewhere a day early

I was going to Somewhere on Sunday to stay while the open house was happening but had to run to Joelton today to see my nephew and decided to go on up to Clarksville. I had a lot of stuff in the back of my car to find a place for everything. Roy went with me to see his brother and visit with his nephews, my great nephews. They had come to Nashville for a church thing with the youth. It was good to see them.

All systems worked well on Somewhere. Turned the Genny on and ran the AC for a while to put a load on her and she worked like a gem. My storage is quickly dwindling but I think I'll have enough space for everything once I go live. I am going to have to reevaluate what dishes I am going to take. Based on my yard sale and the things I had planned on keeping, I won't have room for all the dishes. Do I really need all that? I really won't know until I get out there. What will I cook? How much will I cook? Those will be the questions I'll have to answer at some point. Certainly not now.

Sunday is Open House at my condo so I'll have to leave for a few hours. I'm thinking maybe bingo. That will kill a few hours.

The weather has finally turned out terrific today. Should be like 77. Started out a little chilly with the clouds and the wind. Now it's beautiful.

Multiple Listing Service

It has happened, my condo is now in the MLS number 1061335 and can be seen on Realtracs. Gosh it's a reality. Now we will see. Mixed feelings are flooding my psyche right now! Hope things go well. Thanks to all of you have expressed interest.

Moving Along

Well, carpets are clean, pictures are taken and Thursday the condo will reach the masses. Sunday will be an open house which means I will need to be gone most of the afternoon. It's okay because I have a car full that needs to go to Somewhere and find a place for all that stuff.

I was extremely pleased with the Chemdry of Tennesse who did my carpets. They brought a UV light in to check the puppy piddles in my bedroom and my gosh, I thought Sedona was doing such a good job. Well, let me tell you, she had her favorite spot. Anyway all that is gone and by the time I got home the carpets were dry. I purchased the healthy home system where they use an antimicrobial spray to work into the carpets. There is also a guarantee. My friend, Becky, has used them before and I thought I would give them a try. Worked well and I would recommend them to you and I'll probably have a go at my Somewhere before all is said and done.

Going back to the dentist this afternoon for the final bridge (2nd one) to be placed. The other one broke. Thankfully it was within the time that I don't have to pay for this one again.

I'm checking prices on tires for Somewhere. Got to have new ones before I hit the road. Man, it depends on who you talk to as to the answers you get. Some say 12 ply, others 14 ply, some say no extenders on the inner tires, others say use cats eyes (which I have never heard of before) so I would say homework time for me. If any of you have any suggestions, let me know. Oh, Oh, one company said they had a great new tire from China! What? they are getting into tires now?

Somewhere can really give one a headache and I'm not even on the road yet. I feel like I'm hanging out there on my on since I had the incident with Cullum & Maxey. I've got to develop a relationship with another dealer that I can trust. Once you have been burned, it's hard to trust again. Gee, I sound like I dealing with a love interest or something like that! Forget about it!

On the home front, had a call last night from Bobby Hite, remember he is the real estate agent I interviewed first. He asked if I was ready to list. I told him I already had and he said why did I choose Babs White? I said I liked her marketing plan. He said, well okay, when does it hit the MLS, I told him Thursday, he said good, I have a couple interested! Well, okay just bring them on. Now is that true that he does have a couple interested or was he telling me that to say, see I could have sold it. If he shows up on Thurs with someone and he sells it, more power to him. I'm not expecting a quick sell although that would be might nice.

Another thought: I brought a bicycle to work and put it under my desk to ride. Well it's not really a bicycle but it serves the same purpose. I'm riding it off and on during the day. Happy trails.Later...

Skype

Talked to my sister via Skype. She and hubby go to FL for three months in winter and Skype is a great way to keep in touch in person. They talked about the market being so low in Ft Myers. It would be a great time to buy if someone was looking for a winter place. It gets too hot in the summer. Of course I can't imagine what the insurance would set you back.

Sedona has been delivered to Theda. Most of southern Tennessee got quite a bit of snow but it didn't affect the roads heading west. Now I will miss Sedona because I love it when I come home and she is so happy to see me. This is best for right now. She loves being down at the park so I know she is in a happy place. She will still be happy to see me when she returns home.

I'll post the MLS number when I get it and you can see my Town Home on the web. Heck, maybe some of my readers will want to buy. LOL I am so ready and am feeling so liberated with all the work that I and friends have done. I will be ready to live my dream when it happens.

Watching the Lady Vols hopefully beat Vanderbilt. One can hope.
